Overview
Aleksander Sedzielarz is a Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In the Writing and Communication Program at Georgia Tech, he has taught courses on documentary film and media, film noir, and crime genres in film and fiction. He has also taught Introduction to Film in the Literature, Media, and Communication program. Sedzielarz specializes in creating community-engaged courses that pair composition and visual analysis with hands-on workshops in audio and video production. In a recent course affiliated with Georgia Tech’s Serve-Learn-Sustain Center (“Documentary: Art/Work in ATL”), students investigated concepts of justice and equity in documentary film history and produced mini documentaries in collaboration with partners in Atlanta neighborhoods that included Ndubisi Okoye (New Black Renaissance), Mikhaela Cherry, ATL TVhead, Muhammad Yungai, and Mausiki Scales.
