Overview

Denis Waswa’s research focuses on global Black literature and postcolonial studies, in which he examines the representation of green and blue ecologies as spaces of freedom. In his dissertation, which he is currently revising into a monograph, he explored how the Mau Mau novel genre narrates the forest as a site of anticolonial resistance in Kenya. His work can be found in Cambridge University Press, African Studies Review, the International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, Bloomsbury Academic, ASAP/Review, and Kenya Studies Review.
